BenQ launches InstaShow WDC30 for the most secure wireless presentation

BenQ, the Costa Mesa, CA-based visual display solutions provider, has announced its most secure wireless presentation system yet – the new ultra-secure InstaShow WDC30. It has three layers of wireless protection: Wi-Fi 6 encryption, ISO EAL6+ and FIPS 140-3. BenQ claims that the InstaShow WDC30 is designed and certified to meet the security requirements of US government agencies, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and other high-risk businesses.

Users can connect the germ-resistant WDC30 button to their laptop and press to present sensitive data with 4K video output at 60fps on up to two displays without a network connection or software download, which may pose threats to network security.

“The risk of a cybersecurity attack is growing at an alarming rate each year, with the average cost of data breaches to businesses worldwide standing at $3.86 million and sources predicting $172 billion. dollars will be spent on information security this year alone,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ America Corp. “The WDC30 is the first commercially available wireless presentation system to meet FIPS and EAL6 security standards that can help thwart costly and catastrophic cybersecurity events. It’s even more secure than common accounting programs and most networks.

Safety Focused

Meetings are an essential part of keeping banks and government agencies running smoothly. However, these meetings may contain highly sensitive and confidential data and intellectual property that may be disclosed or accessed when shared through an application, network, or USB-based Wireless Presentation Systems (WPS).

Likewise, these types of systems can expose the connected device and the network. BenQ InstaShow WDC30 protects data, devices and network with robust security certification. Its network-free, secure, and button-based design prevents vulnerabilities caused by network exposure, app or software dependency, or malicious USB inputs.

Offering financial institutions and government agencies the ability to present wirelessly without expensive HDMI matrix systems, without sharing cables and network patches, the Triple WDC30 protects wireless data transmission against cyberattacks in three ways:

WPA3 encrypted Wi-Fi 6 technology: Wi-Fi 6 technology not only guarantees a fast and stable connection, but also the highest level of encryption available. WPA3’s industry-leading security protocols enable stronger authentication, provide increased cryptographic strength for highly sensitive data markets, and maintain the resilience of mission-critical networks.

ISO EAL6 tested and certified design: The Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) in the Common Criteria ranges from EAL1 to EAL7 and EAL6+ is defined as a level that provides extremely high security assurance to protect high-value assets from severe security risks. Certification, carried out by a third-party security organization, took BenQ two years. Only EAL7 military level certification is superior.

FIPS 140-3 certified cryptographic module: FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) certification is required by the US government and other regulated industries (eg, finance and healthcare) that collect, store, transfer, share and disseminate sensitive data. Standard 140 Level 3 compliant, the WDC30 features strong physical security, which includes BenQ’s InstaShow chip which has no ability to communicate with or send data to devices or networks.

More flexible and simpler meetings

In addition to its security infrastructure, the InstaShow WDC30 supports wireless presentations in any shared space, providing connectivity in frequently challenging environments and allowing devices to connect up to 90 feet away.

It works with any type of presentation device and any operating system, with the split-screen feature supporting up to four inputs from multiple devices simultaneously and fast switching between presenters.

With fast one-click present technology, presenters don’t have to worry about logins or software downloads, allowing meetings to start on time. It can present any content, including crisp text and smooth video at up to 60 fps in 4K resolution, on up to two displays. Each secure button features BenQ’s silver ion coating to help prevent the spread of germs between users.
