NEW DELHI, October 6:
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday called on accountants to strive to develop Indian accountancy firms into world-class businesses.
Addressing the convocation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), he called Chartered Accountancy one of the noblest professions in the world and said that the signature of a CA on a document was a very powerful endorsement of the content of the document. and its truthfulness, integrity and truthfulness.
Goyal expressed satisfaction with ICAI’s global footprint with over 168 branches, a presence in 47 countries with 77 centers in different cities around the world.
He asked the Institute to also expand its presence on the South American continent.
“CAs must always be committed to promoting inclusive growth so that as we move towards developed nation status, no one is left behind. We have to take all sections of society with us, people at the very bottom of the pyramid, the marginalized sections of society, he said. Even the least privileged people of the nation are entitled to a better quality of life and collectively, CAs must work to secure these rights by promoting inclusive development,” the Minister added.
Goyal pointed out that India is now seen as the talent factory of the world and said CAs are among the most capable talents produced by the nation.
He expressed confidence that India’s CAs will not only meet the expectations of their compatriots but also those of the world. (UNITED)
