New UOG Graduate Program for Accounting Professionals | New

Accounting professionals looking to take their careers and resumes to the next level will have the opportunity to do so with the new Master of Accounting program from the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Guam. The new program is an online course and is scheduled to start on November 28.

“This is a great opportunity for UOG to serve the community and that’s one way — by offering the master’s program,” said Doreen T. Crisostomo Muña, Ph.D., professor of accounting at SBPA.

According to a press release from UOG, the new graduate program can be completed in one year and offers specific courses in professional accounting research, financial analysis and valuation, corporate governance and management. ethics, advanced auditing and forensic accounting, information systems and data analysis.

“It’s really great to have this specialized Masters in Accounting program. We have a great clientele of accountants who have supported our students over the years, and that takes it to a whole new level and we’re really excited about it” Roseanne Jones said in the press release.Jones, a longtime economics professor at UOG and division head of the school’s business administration division, said the new master’s program shows the school’s commitment to the professional development of Guam’s workforce.

The program also allows accounting professionals who plan to apply for licensure in Guam and practice as a certified public accountant to meet the 150 credit hours required by Guam law.

UOG’s Master of Accounting program will be conducted entirely online – a convenient option for graduate students from around the region and around the world, who could enroll in the program without having to relocate or put their jobs on hold.

“This program is completely online, providing the flexibility professionals need,” said Martha Suez-Sales, DBA, program president.
