Old Mill moves Chippenham office as part of broader growth plans
Old Mill has announced that it is moving the Wiltshire office from Challeymead Business Park in Melksham to Greenways Business Park in Chippenham as part of the company’s broader expansion plans.
Old Mill – which also has offices in Exeter, Yeovil and Wells – first opened the Melksham office in 2010 following a merger with LE Bull, a long-established rural accounting firm in Wiltshire.
He said the decision to move to Chippenham was based on a number of factors, including location, access and flexibility. The new office is a ‘specially designed bright, airy and modern working environment’ set in 11 acre landscaped grounds a five minute drive from the city center and three miles from the J17 of the M4.
Richard Haines, Director of the Wilshire Office, said: “The new office is in a much more central location – Chippenham is one of the most popular and growing towns in Wiltshire and an ideal hub for our rural based business. in Wiltshire. The new office is ideally located, with easy access to the city center and the motorway – and only an hour from London – making it easy for staff and clients to get on.
The 40 employees currently based at the Melksham office will move to the new Chippenham office, but as Old Mill has introduced flexible working across the company, the new office will not need to provide space for all the staff at the same time.
Haines added, “Following the pandemic, we have seen that people’s attitudes towards where they want to work has changed. For some, working remotely has been a very positive experience, and they wish to spend the majority of their working time at home, others wish to return to the office full time, while the majority seek a hybrid configuration that includes a little of both.
“The new Chippenham office offers the perfect solution: it is a modern open plan office with excellent flexibility. It’s actually smaller than Melksham’s current office, and that’s how we can strike the right balance between having enough space for what we need and making sure it never feels too empty, enabling our staff to work creatively, efficiently and flexibly.
Ian Carlson, Managing Director of Old Mill, said: “Providing fantastic work environments – including the latest technology – is key to being able to employ and retain the best people in the region.
“2021 has been a record recruiting year for us, and our goal is to continue to develop Old Mill and provide excellent career opportunities for the people of the region. This move to Chippenham is a key part of our plan. “
